'Plant-based Diet' a new trend

Image
Many times I come across on a question of diet plan. In today's world diet plan is followed strictly and many dieticians are getting involved in the sports world to use their knowledge on the sports players to make them fit.                 Being a cricket coach, I came across many dieticians with whom I shared my player's diet chart and ask them to improvise it. I got many suggestions for diet plans but some were getting effective, while some were getting failed. Nowadays, we see players are using supplementary food items to balance the diet comprising high protein, high carbohydrate, or high-fat diets/foods. But I used to ask myself is it the right way to increase ones energy and power. So, I researched and followed some top-notch sporting personalities and local players daily diet routine and came to a conclusion.                  A plant-based diet is one of the best diet plan which...

Don't overexert yourself when exercising!

Image
The mantra of “no pain, no gain,” is a motivator for some, however, it can be dangerous when taken to the extreme. Doing cricket coaching from last 12 years, I have come across many players who overdo exercises. By taking tips from well-known fitness trainers in India, I prepare a schedule for them. But despite that, they have a myth that they need to train more to improve their strength and this results in injury or muscle pain. Players need to understand that overtraining regularly allows the body to drain quickly. And it starts going otherwise. The part of the body which we want to increase starts decreasing. Generally, we think that doing a double workout can help us to increase power and strength. Although, it results negatively. 90 minutes of exercise every day is enough for a player to improve mental health, but anything over this threshold is worse for mental health than no exercise at all, this what researchers had found recently. For regular exercisers, reducing or st...

Pen wale sir’

Image
IT WAS a hot summer day in 1975, and the university’s exam had just got finished at St Francis De Sales College. The exam papers were being checked. A lecturer from the zoology department came to ask for pen from the Head of Department (HOD) of Physical Education, “Sir, can I get a red pen please?”, he replied, “why not!”. After a few hours, the lecturer came to return the pen. But when the HOD had given him that pen, the smile and happiness he saw on his face was an extremely pleasant one. This was the main reason that led him to start distributing pens in public, just as a token of love. This person (HOD) is none other than Ramsundar Mahadeo Kubde, who is also known as Shyamrao, a 68-year-old retired lecturer. Since 1975, Shyamrao started purchasing pens for gifting as a token of love from his side and that made him famous all over Nagpur and specially in the Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). Let it be sports field, examination centre or general meet...
